Biodiversity Measures

In order to manage the impact of our projects in the pre-construction periods, flora, fauna, bird and bat monitoring studies are carried out in the project area and its immediate surroundings, and target species are determined according to international criteria, and the use and density of birds and bats in the project area and its immediate surroundings are determined. According to these monitoring, biodiversity measures are developed when necessary, and monitoring continues during the operational periods of our facilities.

Flora and Fauna

In order to manage the impact in the pre-construction periods of our projects, flora and fauna monitoring studies are carried out in the project area and its immediate surroundings, and target species are determined according to international criteria.

According to these monitoring, when necessary, outside the habitat area (Ex-Situ) in order to prevent the determined flora target species from being affected by the activity or to keep the impact at a minimum level.

(for example: collecting the seeds of the determined target species and transmitting them to gene banks) conservation projects are planned and impact management is carried out.

In addition, when necessary, impact management is provided by planning conservation projects (In-Situ) (for example: relocation) within the habitat area in order to prevent the determined flora and fauna target species from being affected by the activity or to keep the impact at a minimum level. In our facilities, the success of these conservation projects is determined by monitoring during operation periods.

Bird

In our projects and facilities, bird watching studies are carried out during the pre-construction, construction and operation periods in order to determine the target species in terms of birds, possible migration routes and bird density in the spring and autumn migration periods according to international criteria.

In our facilities where intensive migration routes of birds are detected, a turbine shutdown protocol is applied during peak migration periods, with monitoring when necessary.

Carcass monitoring studies are also carried out in our facilities.

Bat

In the project area, bat monitoring studies are carried out during pre-construction, construction and operation periods in order to determine the target species during migration periods according to international criteria and to determine the possible bat density situation of the area.

Carcass monitoring studies are also carried out in our facilities when necessary. According to these monitoring, the impact that may occur for bats is managed by increasing the lower wind speed limit for the turbines, which are determined together with monitoring during the operation period, when necessary.
